We lay great emphasis on capacity building and training. We train our staff team, women members of Self Help Groups, CRWC Members, Bal Panchayat Members, Adolescent Girls Groups, Teachers Of Non-formal Education Centres, and parents of child labour as also parents of Disabled Children.

Having sensed the paucity of well committed social workers and development workers who can devotedly deliver services in the rural and backward areas we identified and trained village youth whom we groomed as development workers. Some of these workers are trained in physiotherapy and are a cadre for managing our Child Rehabilitation Centre. We first

The instructors have learnt the methods, technique and ways to liberate the child labourers from carpet and glass industries and to mainstream to the education.

They developed their understanding on the joyful, easy and innovative learning and education.

Induction Training for the Project Staff

training 02Induction Training for the project team members was held at Vikas Ashram, Rupaspur on 12-13 Jan 2015 in which15 participants took part. The purpose of the programme was to equip the project team members with the project objectives, expected outcomes, strategies and expected roles and responsibilities of the project staff. The other purpose of the programme was to educate and sensitize the project team members about socio-economic and political background of the target families as also to develop clarity about bringing changes and mainstreaming them through education, health, nutrition, livelihood programme.

Mr Dilip Sevarthi, the director and Premvir Dev, the programme coordinator moderated the programme. Successful Case Study, Presentation, Group Discussion, etc methods followed during programme.

A two days training was conducted for leaders of Bal Panchayats on 23-24 April 2015 at Vikas Ashram, Rupasnagar, Shikohabad. 38 participants attended the training programme. Shri Dilip Sevarthi and Mr Premvir Dev provided participatory and interactive training to participants. The purpose of the training was to enhance leadership action towards elimination of Child Labour from carpet and glass and bangle industry. The other purpose was to develop them for spreading the messages related to importance of education for the freed child labour.

The training was effective in developing clarity about functioning of the Baal Panchayat and expected roles of members / leaders. Training inputs also helped in developing understanding about importance of education, health, nutrition and hygiene measures, gender equity and elimination of child labour among participants. The training inputs finally contributed in sustaining the project agenda through emerging leadership among children in the project areas under the strong leadership of Baal Panchayat.

Two days long training was conducted for leaders of Baal Panchayat on 20-22 April 2016 at Vikas Ashram, Rupaspur, Shikohabad. Total of 56 participants attended the training programme. Shri Dilip Sevarthi a director of the institute and Mr Premvir Dev provided participatory and interactive training to participants. The purpose of the training was to enhance leadership action towards elimination of Child Labour from carpet and glass and bangle industry.

The other purpose was to develop them for spreading the messages related to importance of education for the freed child labour. Leader of Baal panchayat from Chilasni village, Daya kee Garhi village, Narayan nagar slum, Pratapnagar slum, Piparia village , Bhabhain village, Dheemar village , Sikander village , Rajmal village, Ramgarh village and Nagla Karansingh village and Lal Garhi village, of the project areas. The following themes were deliberated upon.

  • Role of Baal Panchayat in elimination of child labour and promotion of education
  • Child Rights – right to birth, right to development, right to participation and right to security
  • Sharing of successful case story of freed child labour and them mainstreaming into formal education as well as economic well being of their families through income generation activities and enhancement in livelihood opportunity.
  • Heath, nutrition and hygienic measures
  • Right to education and efforts towards ensuring education of freed child labour
  • How to develop action plan for redressal of grievances as well as assertion of rights and due entitlements
